Gravisim — ground-based microgravity research

Spaceflight access is necessarily limited. Gravisim provides a ground-based platform for controlled, repeatable microgravity studies with cells and bioengineered tissues, allowing observations from flight to be investigated experimentally in the laboratory.
Research programme
The platform supports studies of cellular adaptation, tissue function and recovery under simulated microgravity. We use it alongside our spaceflight programme to carry mission-derived questions with experiments that can be repeated and extended on the ground.
A patent has been filed for the Gravisim microgravity system. Technical construction, validation and performance details are therefore not disclosed on this website.
